After your booking is confirmed

Booking confirmation

Once you submit a booking request, your host is notified and a pre-authorisation is placed on your payment method for the booking amount. The host has 24 hours to review and respond.

If the host accepts, the pre-authorisation is captured and your booking is confirmed. If the host declines or does not respond, the pre-authorisation is released and drops from your account β€” no payment is taken.

You can view and manage your booking via your trips and message your host through Messages.

Additional drivers

You can nominate up to three additional drivers per booking. Each driver must have their own verified evee account with their details completed in the Personal info page.

For guidance on adding drivers, refer to Additional drivers.

Security deposit

A security deposit will be pre-authorised on your payment method 24 hours before the start of your rental. Ensure sufficient funds are available. The pre-authorisation is released 48 hours after the rental ends, provided no damage is reported.

For more information, refer to Security deposit.

Plan your trip

For long-distance or regional travel, plan your charging stops in advance. Tools such as Plugshare, Google Maps, and A Better Route Planner (ABRP) can help you locate charging stations along your route. Refer to our charging guide for general charging instructions.

Damage liability

If damage occurs during your rental, damage liability fees may apply. The applicable amount is listed in the Rental Coverage section of the listing page.

For additional protection, consider purchasing evee Protect, which reduces your damage liability to $0 in the event of damage during your booking. For more information, refer to the evee Protect article.

On the day of your rental

  • Have your driver's licence ready β€” your host will verify your identity at the handover.

  • Arrive on time β€” meet the host at the agreed location. They will walk you through the vehicle and answer any questions.

  • Take photos β€” photograph the vehicle from all angles before and after the rental to document its condition. Keep these records for at least 30 days from the end of the rental in case of a damage claim.
