evee collects certain personal information to ensure the safety and security of our community and to provide our services. Our privacy practices are governed by the evee Privacy Policy, which is based on the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What data we collect
Prior to requesting a booking, we collect the following personal information from renters:
Full name: To identify you as the renter of the vehicle.
Date of birth: To confirm you are of legal age to rent and for insurance purposes.
Email address: To communicate with you regarding your rental activity and for marketing communications.
Mobile number: To contact you in case of emergency and for communications related to your rental activity.
Driver's licence: To verify that you are legally authorised to drive the rented vehicle.
Payment information: To process rental payments and security deposits.
We also collect information about your use of the website, including browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and referring website address.
Why we collect it
We collect this data to:
Ensure the safety and security of our community.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide and improve our services.
Communicate with you regarding your rental activity and provide important updates.
Verify that you are legally authorised to drive and rent the vehicle.
Send marketing communications, including email and SMS.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. You may also request to know what personal information is held about you, for what purposes, and how it is used.
You can deactivate your account from the Login & Security page of your evee account. Once deactivated, evee will retain your information for 30 days before permanently deleting it.

Data protection
evee uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, and disclosure. Access to your personal information is limited to employees and third-party service providers who require it to deliver our services.
Hosts on the evee platform will only receive your name and mobile number to communicate and coordinate your booking.
All payments and identity verifications are processed through Stripe, a global leader in payments and identity verification, integrated directly into evee's platform. For more information on why we use Stripe, read our blog post on Stripe ID.
Identity verification with Stripe
Stripe Identity is used to verify your identity and reduce fraud. When completing verification, you will be prompted to upload:
A copy of your current driver's licence
A live selfie
A machine learning program matches the ID against third-party records to confirm your identity. The verification is fully automated and results are provided immediately.
The information collected is encrypted and sent directly to Stripe — evee does not store or manage the sensitive data provided during this process.
