Service animal policy
evee's policy is based on the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). Service animals are animals trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities. We encourage all hosts to welcome service animals, including guide dogs, signal dogs, and other animals trained to assist their owners.
Renters travelling with a service animal must notify their host in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made. The animal must be safely secured and under the renter's control at all times. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by their service animal.
Service animals may only be rejected under the following conditions:
The host has a legitimate allergy or fear of the specific service animal.
The service animal cannot be safely secured in the vehicle. It is the renter's responsibility to provide any necessary restraint equipment.
The service animal poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
Emotional support animals
Pets that serve as emotional support animals without specific training to perform tasks that mitigate a disability are not considered service animals under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Hosts are not required to permit emotional support animals, but may do so at their own discretion.
Pet-friendly listings
To check whether a host permits animals and pets in their vehicle, look for the Pet Friendly option in the Rental Conditions section of the listing:
Renters are responsible for any damage caused by their pets.
