We provide simple and flexible car sharing insurance for your EV

Good news β€” when you share your vehicle through evee, you do not need to switch your existing insurance policy. Your vehicle is already protected during rentals.

evee provides rental-only insurance for your vehicle, allowing you to list your electric vehicle under your own private insurance policy while providing comprehensive coverage during rentals through evee. This approach gives you the flexibility to keep your preferred insurer for when the vehicle isn't on rent.

We continue to work with our trusted insurance partners to offer this programme, which is backed by a local Australian APRA-rated insurer, giving you peace of mind that your electric vehicle is properly protected.

A few important things to note:

  • Insurance is offered based on the type and market value of your car, not agreed value.

  • You are protected as long as you are an owner or Authorised operator of the vehicle, do not breach our platform terms of use, and do not accept payments outside of the evee platform.

  • If a renter allows an unauthorised driver to use your car and an accident occurs, your insurance still covers you for damage to your car.

  • If your vehicle is stolen or written off, an independent assessor determines the market value based on the vehicle's age, mileage, options, modifications, condition, and comparable sales. Please note you cannot claim lost income under this policy.
